"Stop Me" (Live at Jimmy Kimmel):
In June of 2009, Daniel Merriweather released his solo record, called "Love and War". It entered the UK charts at #2, and has led to three singles including the hits "Change" (featuring Wale) which features Wale, "Red", and "Impossible". "Love and War" is scheduled to be released on the 19th of January here in the US.
"Change":
"Change" (Live at Jools Holland):
"Change" is a great song and a great lead off single for the album; it's catchy and grabs your attention. It did really well on the charts and on the radio. But it was the song "Red' that really captured my attention and established Daniel Merriweather as a singer. It is a great song, with many emotions. It is a little slow, but it does grow on you. The chorus is brilliant, it's super catchy. I also love the instruments and the arrangements. The lyrics are also beautiful.
"Red":
"Red" (Live at BBC Radio1 Big Breakfast):
Greg, a friend of mine described Daniel Merriweather as,
"a male Amy Winehouse without the drug problems... at least not yet",and I have to agree. "Love and War" is one of my favorite albums. All the songs on the album are different, making it an album you can listen to from beginning to end. The standout tracks for me include "Red", "Water and a Flame", and "Impossible".
What do you all think of Daniel Merriweather and his music? Which song do you prefer, "Stop Me", "Change", or "Red"?
