The Noisettes - "Wild Young Hearts"

Move over Amy Winehouse, there's a new pop/Motown/rnb/jazz band in town, and they are set to fill the void. The band, The Noisettes, consists of singer/bassist Shingai Shoniwa, Dan Smith on guitars and drummer Jamie Morrison. They are one of the coolest indie bands to come out of the UK in the past year. They have a great style that combines the soul and passion of the 60s, but with a modern twist. It's the Supremes meets Amy Winehouse, with a hint of pop and dance. Their latest album, "Wild Young Heart" was released in the UK on the 20th of April, and was released in the US on the 22nd of September.

The album has gone Gold in the UK and reached number 7 on the charts. "Wild Young Hearts" is The Noisettes second album, their debut album, "What's The Time, Mr. Wolf?" was released in the UK in 2007, and only managed to chart at #75. Their new album is massively successful and features the hit singles, "Wild Young Hearts", "Don't Upset the Rhythm (Go Baby Go)" and "Never Forget You".

The Noisettes are super cool, in fact, they may be the epitome of cool at the moment. I love their style, it's a great mixture of the past, present, and hopefully the future. They ooze soul and passion. The album is great and full of great tracks, but my favorite tracks are the singles. The title track, "Wild Young Hearts" is a great fun track, but for me, it's only when the chorus kicks in that the song really takes off for me. I love the fast paced tempo and the rocky edge to it. I love the "la la la la" and clapping on the track. "Don't Upset the Rhythm (Go Baby Go)" is one of the hottest songs in the UK right now, and made it to #2 on the charts. It's a brilliant track and super catchy. The chorus is "a pure delight". The track is great for either a dance or a sing-along. But my favorite track on the album is "Never Forget You". It's got a great vibe to it, and the vocals by Shingai are amazing, especially at the open of the song. The song sounds like it is straight for the 60s, and I really like it. It's a great love song and I really like the lyrics and the sentiment of the song. It is a special song. Other great tracks on the album include: "So Complicated", "Beat of My Heart" and "24 Hours".

The Noisettes definetly "Don't Upset The Rhythm" and if they keep making albums like "Wild Young Hearts", we'll "Never Forget You". "Go Baby Go"!
